About the Sovereign Routes Foundation
Founder’s Statement
I founded the Sovereign Routes Foundation as a United States Marine Corps veteran with a lifelong commitment to service, accountability, and the pursuit of truth. My years in uniform shaped not only my sense of duty to this country, but also my responsibility to confront the narratives that define it. Service does not end when the uniform comes off—it evolves. For me, it has become a commitment to examine the intellectual and legal foundations that continue to shape justice, land, and identity in the United States.
The Sovereign Routes Foundation exists to dismantle the intellectual architecture of dispossession. For generations, the story of America’s expansion has been told through simplified myths—stories that obscure the legal and theological frameworks that enabled the displacement of Native nations. Doctrines such as the Doctrine of Discovery, concepts like Vacuum Domicilium, and landmark rulings known as the Marshall Trilogy formed a system that translated belief into policy, and policy into dispossession.
As a veteran, I was trained to understand systems—how they are built, how they operate, and how they can be challenged when they fail to uphold their stated ideals. This same discipline guides our work. We approach history not as a static record, but as an active structure—one that has been constructed, reinforced, and too often left unquestioned.
Our mission is not only to educate, but to restore. We work with museums, educational institutions, libraries, and cultural organizations to reintroduce the suppressed legal and historical realities of Native American removal into the public consciousness. By doing so, we aim to replace incomplete narratives with documented truth, and to ensure that the full scope of this history is accessible to all.
This work is grounded in a belief that truth is not divisive—it is foundational. A nation that values integrity must be willing to examine the frameworks that shaped it. As a veteran, I have sworn to uphold the principles of this country. That oath compels me to engage in this work: not in opposition to the nation, but in alignment with its highest ideals.
The Sovereign Routes Foundation is an extension of that service—dedicated to clarity, accountability, and the restoration of historical truth.
